Such reports are often necessary to enable the proper assessment of planning applications. Each report evaluates the building or site, provides interpretation of the asset, and defines design or repair parameters. 

We can provide measured, photographic and interpretive surveys of historic buildings and curtilages to aid development and secure appropriate protection. Surveys are undertaken in accordance with Historic England and ICOMOS guidelines. 

When planning a development near to or within a protected setting, it is important to frame the debate relative to the significance of the historic asset(s). We provide clear reports and design master-plans to assist developers and local authorities in their allocation of development land. 

We can provide detailed specifications for the purposes of repair work, grant funding or planning tasks to cover repairs to a wide range of building and monuments

Phasing plans are often used to determine what is important in a historic context by way of age and context. They may deal with a building, group, and/or landscape setting. We analyse the site, collect data and create clear drawings and statements that can help inform the design process.  

We are pleased to offer consultancy and expert witness advice on the historic environment for planning appeals and legal cases. We have a good success rate in heritage cases, working for private individuals, solicitors and planning consultants.
